Until I Found Him in a Whisper, a Stranger, and in My Own Stillness

I still remember that time—wandering through the heart of Rishikesh in 2023, just after completing my yoga teacher training. I had only ₹3000 in my pocket, a bag on my shoulder, and a deep longing in my soul—for a Guru, a guide, a light.

Amidst the sacred noise and wandering sadhus, I felt completely lost. Someone offered me a glimmer of hope—a reference to an ashram where I might find my Guru and immerse myself under the shade of his wisdom. I went from one ashram to another. But at each gate, I was turned away. Doors remained closed—not just around me, but within me.

That evening, something shifted. I wasn’t just lost in the streets—I was lost inside myself. Tears didn’t fall from my eyes—they flowed from my soul. I didn’t know what to do, or where to go. There was a silence inside me that echoed louder than any crowd outside.

With that ache in my chest, I made a decision—to go to Nepal. I remember the tears in my eyes… tears of deep gratitude for the beautiful souls I met during the training—their laughter, their light, their love. And also, the tears of longing… for the Guru I couldn’t find.

But somewhere deep within, I held on to one thing—surrender. A quiet trust in divine timing. There is a reason behind every beat of the heart. With that surrender and a faint smile, I drifted into sleep.

From that moment on, I offered myself fully to my practice. With honesty. With love. I chose to keep walking the path—melting deeper into my own being, witnessing everything that arises. Since 2020, I’ve been feeling this truth again and again: the answers we seek are already within us.

And in that silence… I found my Guru. This Guru inside me… is a reflection of all the souls I’ve met along the way. Including you.

And as I continued my journey—not just inwardly, but across lands—on my humble bicycle, carrying nothing but trust, a few clothes, and an open heart, I met so many more. People who didn’t know my name but opened their homes. Vendors who offered chai and a seat under the shade. Strangers who became mirrors. Each one, unknowingly, teaching me. Feeding me. Holding space for me. I wasn’t just cycling through countries—I was cycling through the hearts of humanity. And through each meeting, the Guru in me grew quieter, deeper, more rooted in love.

I may not remember how or when we met, or how much time we shared, but something in me knows—we crossed paths for a reason. There is something sacred we are meant to feel, to learn, to heal—together.

The greatest lessons of my life came not from books or stages, but from roadside dhabas and mountain trails, from silence under the stars to conversations under tin roofs. In the stillness of forests, in the chaos of cities, in the tears and in the laughter—I saw life herself become the Guru.

This entire cosmos has been my Guru. Gently, silently, teaching through both joy and heartbreak. Through laughter and pain. It takes time to realise—my heart didn’t break… it opened.

The tree that gave me shelter. The hill that held my silence. The graveyard where I shivered through a stormy night. All of them whispered the same truth:I am nothing. And in that nothingness… I am everything.

Each moment—through you, through strangers, through the wind and the stillness—Life has been unfolding her lessons. Constantly. Tenderly.

So today, on this sacred day of Guru Purnima, I bow down to all forms of the Guru—the teacher within, the teacher in you, and the teacher in every corner of existence.

I wish you a day and a life filled with light, reflection, and the courage to keep walking your own path.

Happy Guru Purnima.I bow to the Divine in you.I bow to the Love in you.I bow… to You.

As we pedal through diverse landscapes and navigate the twists and turns of unknown paths, we uncover the beauty of connecting with different cultures and people along the way. Each encounter is a precious gem, enriching our journey and reminding us of the shared humanity that unites us all.
