About the Retreat

Shankhaprakshalana Kriya • Yogic Fasting • Inner Purification

This retreat is a traditional yogic cleansing journey designed to purify the body, calm the mind, and create space for deeper awareness.

At the heart of this retreat is Shankhaprakshalana Kriya — an ancient cleansing practice from the yogic tradition and one of the classical Shatkarmas (the six yogic purification techniques).

In Sanskrit, Shankha means “conch shell” and Prakshalana means “complete washing or cleansing.” Just as water flows through a conch shell cleansing it from within, this kriya is traditionally practiced to deeply cleanse the entire gastrointestinal tract systematically and consciously.

For centuries, yogis have used this practice as a form of complete internal purification — not only to detoxify the body, but also to prepare the system for higher states of awareness, lightness, clarity, and balance.

This retreat includes a carefully guided 3-day yogic fasting process, allowing the digestive system to rest, reset, and restore its natural intelligence. The fasting is approached gently and traditionally, with awareness, proper preparation, and support throughout the process.

In yogic understanding, purification of the body is closely linked with purification of the mind. As the body begins to release accumulated toxins and heaviness, many participants experience a deep sense of emotional release, mental clarity, calmness, and renewed vitality.

Alongside the cleansing process, the retreat includes daily practices of:

🌿 Hatha Yoga — to strengthen, open, and energize the body

🌿 Swara Yoga — observing the subtle flow of breath and its influence on mind and emotions

🌿 Navagraha Sadhana (planetary balancing practices) — using specialized kriyas, mudras, and mantras to harmonize the planetary energies within the body and mind

🌿 Meditation & Silence — creating space to observe and settle inwardly

🌿 Sharing Circles — allowing participants to reflect, express, and support one another through the journey

The retreat gradually becomes more than a physical detoxification. It becomes a process of slowing down, listening deeply, and reconnecting with the natural rhythm of life within.

In the yogic tradition, purification is known as Shuddhi (inner cleansing) — not merely cleansing the body, but creating clarity in body, breath, mind, and awareness.

This retreat is offered with the intention of preserving these ancient practices in a simple, respectful, and experiential way, allowing participants to experience yoga not only as movement, but as a path of purification, balance, and inner awakening.

“The mat is only the beginning. Real yoga starts in the way we breathe, speak, walk, and live.”
